Travelling To The Baltic States

Hi guys! So this time I went to the beautiful Baltic States with our Honors Program. When we got to know that we were going to Tallinn and Riga I honestly didn't know what to expect. And I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised on how beautiful everything was. I have to say that in the beginning I didn't really felt like I was abroad in Tallinn because it reminded me so much of Brussels. But then Riga.. Wauw that city is really big and has gorgeous building. I would definitly like to come back and explore a bit more and go shopping.

Day in Dordrecht

So before I bought my new jacket which you saw in my previous post, we went a strolled in Dordrecht. This city is so photogenic, it's insane. I really like towns like this where people usually don't really go to. But well I didn't really wear something special because I really wanted enjoy the town and spend some time with my cousins. I'm going to hit the shower now because I just came from the gym. Have a lovely evening guys! x

Favorite Hat From Zara

Hi guys! I know it's been a while that I haven't posted anything. These past months have been quit hectic if I can say so myself. Being that the last period of school were really busy and the exams required a lot of my time, I had to make some choices. Even though a few weeks had past after the exams, I still didn't had much time to rest mentally and physically. After winter holidays I started my internship and that requires a lot of traveling and waking at 5 or 4 am. You can imagine how that shift can be quit stressful on someone. But all is well now. I've managed to divide my time with all these new responsibilities and incorporated going to the gym to relief the stress and tension in my body. 

Well talking about outfits, my new obsession has become hats. Especially this one from Zara. It is just the perfect hat in size, color, material, just everything! The weather here has been pretty weird. Some days you would think that spring is just around the corner and other days.. well it just seems like winter is never ending. For the last part I sure was in need of a new winter jacket. I don't like the shape of those coats to be honest. But one is surely in need of one living where I live. I hope you all have been well and I'll catch up with you soon! x

Favorite visitor from Iran

My favorite uncle from Iran came to visit us! Well, technically he's not from Iran but is stationed there for his work. It has been several years that he has lived there. My mom even went to visit him last year. I was so jealous because my cousins were there to and I really wanted to see them. When my mom showed me the photo's she took in Iran I was sooo envious. Iran is a really pretty country. I mean to be honest its not the first country I would put on my bucket list to visit but it seems like a really nice county to visit.

Mijn favoriete oom uit Iran kwam vorige week op visite! Nou, technisch gezien komt hij niet echt uit Iran, maar woont hij daar voor zijn werk. Hij woont er nu al een aantal jaar. En als hij dan toevallig een vergadering ergens in Europa heeft, komt hij ons altijd even bezoeken. Mijn moeder is vorig bij hem op visite geweest in Iran. Ik was zo jaloers omdat mijn neefjes en nichtje er waren en ik hun heel graag had willen zien. Toen mijn moeder foto's liet zien die zij in Iran genomen had was ik zooo jaloers. Iran is echt een heel mooi land. Ik bedoel, laten we eerlijk zijn het is niet het eerste land die ik op mijn bucketlist zou zetten om op vakantie te gaan, maar het lijkt me toch een heel mooi lans

Instead of staying inside of the house like my mom loves to, I dragged them out of the house to at least show him the city centre. Its now sinterklaas season here in the Netherlands. In the picture below you can see my mom and uncle looking at a 'zwarte piet' climbing out of a chimney. I'm going to bed early now as I have to stand all the at the open house of our university. In plaats van het hele weekende thuis te blijven heb ik mijn moeder en oom het huis uitgesleurd. Ik wilde mijn oom op zijn minst de stad laten zien. Aangezien het weer bijna sinterklaas is, is de winkelcentra helemaal gedecoreerd met cadeaus en zwarte pietjes. Op de foto hieronder zie je mijn moeder en oom kijken naar een levensechte 'zwarte piet' die uit een schoorsteen klimt. Ik duik nu lekker mijn bed. Morgen moet ik de hele dag op de open dag staan van Saxion. Fijne avond! X

TEDx Persuit of Happiness

I finally went to my very first TED talk. It has been a long time that I've seen loads of videos on YouTube of people sharing their ideas and listening to inspirational talks. So our university had organized this TED talk. The subject was happiness. What does happiness mean to you and in what way can you achieve it. 

Eindelijk ben ik naar mijn allereerste TED-talk geweest. Sinds een aantal jaren heb ik tal van video's op YouTube gekeken waar mensen hun ideeën delen en ik naar inspirerende pitches heb geluisterd. Saxion had deze TED-talk georganiseerd waardoor het mooi in de buurt was. Het onderwerp was geluk. Wat betekent geluk voor jou en op welke manier kun je dit te bereiken. Hoe hebben andere mensen dit kunnen verwezenlijken en hoe heeft het begrip geluk men op ideeën gebracht.

The ticket to the event were sold out. So there where about 1000 people in the theater. Everybody got a keycard with their name and program on it. We also got a goodie bag with little cute little things in it. I was really happy with the bag it came with. It's a foldable bag that you can fold to a size smaller than your phone. It really comes in handy when grocery shopping.    

Alle kaartjes voor de evenement waren uitverkocht. Dus we zaten daar met ongeveer 1000 mensen in het theater. Iedereen kreeg een sleutelkaart met hun naam en het programma op. We kregen ook een goodie bag met schattige kleine dingen in het. Ik was erg blij met de tas zelf. Het is zo'n opvouwbare tas die je makkelijk mee kunt nemen. Echt super handig tijdens boodschappen doen. Dat kwam mij even mooi uit!

I was really lucky to be able to go the event with school. Well to be honest a few other student of my Honors class organized the tickets for us and school basically payed for it. I really wanted to go beforehand just like 4 other student as well. Then they came up with the idea of organizing it as a trip for our Honors class. It is so inspiring and special to see/hear the new inventors of our time.

Ik had echt geluk om er gratis heen te gaan met school. Eerlijk gezegd hebben een paar andere student van mijn Honneurs programma de tickets geregeld en school het vergoed. Ik wilde er al eerder naar toe en een paar andere studenten ook. Toen kwamen ze met het idee om het te organiseren als een uitstapje met het HP. Als zelf ook graag naar een TED-talk wilt kun je hier klikken, om te zien waar ze worden gehouden in jouw regio. Ik zou het je echt aanraden. Het is zo inspirerend en bijzonder om te zien / horen wat mensen allemaal bedenken en meemaken.

Instead of a fortune cookie, we were given a Happy cookie. Mine said 'Your cheerful outlook is one of you best assets'. Even though I'm not a believer of these things, this one was pretty accurate haha. 

En we kregen ook nog een gelukskoekje wat iets over jezelf verteld. Die van mij zei 'Uw vrolijke uiterlijk is een van je beste eigenschappen'. Ik geloof zelf niet in deze dingen maar dit was vrij nauwkeurig haha.

United in the same city

So I've changed my room! No just I'm kidding. A dear friend of mine finally moved to Enschede. It's because back at my parents house we live really near each other and now we are reunited again. Even though she lives on the other side of Enschede, it is still only 10 min by bike.Yesterday was such a gloomy and rainy day. I had planned to go to the market to get some fruit en veggies but when I woke up and saw that rain.. I thought nope maybe next week. 

Mijn kamer heeft een make-over gekregen! Nee grapje. Een vriendin van mij is eindelijk verhuisd naar Enschede en de foto hier boven is haar bureaugedeelte. Bij mijn ouders thuis wonen wij best wel dicht bij elkaar en nu zijn we weer in Enschede samen herenigd. We wonen niet eens 10 min fietsen van elkaar. Ik had gepland om vroeg op te staan en vervolgens naar de markt te gaan om groente en fruit te halen. En toen werd ik wakker deed me gordijnen open en zag dat super grijs was en regende.. En toen dacht nee volgende week is er weer markt.

I didn't leave the house until 3:00pm or so. But I have to say it felt good to be productive with blogging again. I spend the whole morning on it and later in the day did some school stuff. I've been feeling quite alive and super energized these days. I think it's because I've been listening to afrobeats lately. The music really brings me in a good mood, as it reminds me of fun times with my cousins. 

Uiteindelijk ben pas rond drie uur uit huis gegaan. Maar ik moet zeggen dat ik mijn ochtend wel lekker productief was. Op een of andere manier houd bloggen mij toch lekker bezig en geïnspireerd om gewoon dingen te gaan doen. De laatste zit ik echt vol met energie mede dankzij de muziek die ik de laatste tijd luister. Dit nummer van Yemi Alade doet mij zo aan mijn familie denken. Krijg er meteen een warm gevoel van.

Eventually I did go to the supermarket intending to be fruits and veggies but they're much more expensive there. So I ended only buying some grapes, an avocado and breakfast stuff. My my do I love me some muesli and yoghurt, yum!

Uiteindelijk ben ik toch naar de supermarkt gegaan met de bedoeling om groente en fruit te halen. En aangezien de winter nadert, stijgen de prijzen ook.. Wat is het duur vergeleken de markt. Was ik toch maar even naar de markt gegaan haha. Heb alleen wat ontbijt spullen, druiven en een avocado gehaald. 

Later the day I went tho see my friends house. I really love it and it suits her personality so well! I felt super honored when she told me that she used my room as inspiration. She even ended up buying the same couch and some other stuff.

's Middags ben ik naar mijn vriendin haar kamer gegaan. Haar kamer zier er super leuk en past echt super goed bij haar. Voelde me echt ontzettend vereerd toen ze mij vertelde dat ze mij kamer als inspiratie heeft gebruikt. Ze heeft zelfs dezelfde slaapbank gekocht haha.

Her house is definitely more typically student like with all the posters of half naked men on the walls, non matching chairs and plates haha. It has something that character that just tells you that a lot of people have lived in that house and left their little mark. As for dinner we made some burgers! But now I have to get ready to go the even Pursuit of Happiness. More about that tomorrow! x

Haar huis is zeker meer een studentenhuis dan die van mij. Met allerlei half naakte mannen op de muur, slingers tegen het plafond, etc. Ik vind het wel echt een huis dat ook wel bij haar past. Ohh 's avonds hebben we lekker hamburgers gegeten. Ik ga mij nu klaar maken om naar de event Pursuit of Happiness te gaan. Maar daar morgen meer over! x

November days

So I decided for the rest of the month of november to daily blog. I really wanted to be a fashion blog, where I could share my outfits with you. But I it's hard to do that when you don't always have someone to shoot your outfit with. So I decided to switch things up a bit and blog about what I have been up to. It will give me much less pressure to get a 'perfect' post. I mean blogging is suppose to be fun right. And yes I still will be posting outfit related post! I mean those are my favorites anyway haha.

Ik heb besloten om de rest van november dagelijks te gaan bloggen. In eerste instantie wilde ik echt alleen een fashionblog zijn waar ik mijn outfits met jullie kon delen. Maar dat gaat moeilijk als je niet altijd iemand hebt om outfit foto's mee te maken en ik het zelf ook druk heb. Dus besloot ik om de boel om te gooien en meer over mijn alledaagse dingen te bloggen. Dit geeft mij al veel minder druk ome een 'perfecte' post te hebben. Ik bedoel bloggen hoort gewoon leuk te zijn toch. En ik zal nog steeds outfit post uploaden want dat zijn toch wel mijn favoriete post haha. 

I came home from my parents house wearing this really cute jumper from Pull & Bear. I absolutely love this color and material. I kind of felt like wearing it differently so I wore a white blouse from Mango underneath it. It reminded me of a Japanese schoolgirl outfit but with my own little twist. Later that day I went grocery shopping and had to get my sim card reduced in size so it could fit the in the new one. I went from a 4s to a 5s. I still feel like the iPhone 6 is to big. I may change my mind later but I'm really happy with it.

Toen ik gister terug kwam van mijn ouders droeg ik deze super leuke trui van Pull & Bear. Ik wilde de trui even leuker maken door er een witte blouse van de Mango onder te doen. Ik vind het wel een leuke combinatie. Het doet me denken aan Japanse schooluniform. Maar dan met mijn eigen twist er aan. Ik had een waslijst aan dingen die er moesten gebeuren. Boodschappen doen, simkaart laten verkleinen, begroting maken en nog naar een vergadering. Ik ben van een iPhone 4s naar een 5s gegaan. De 6 vind ik toch nog een beetje te groot voor mij. Misschien verander ik later ooit van gedachten maar nu ben ik erg blij met mijn aankopen. Ik dacht dat mijn simkaart niet kleiner kon maar er moest toch een heel stuk van af om in de 5s te passen. Zo blijft er niks meer over. Gelukkig hoef ik het zelf niet te doen want de gaat het helemaal fout.

I'm totally obsessed with these shoes from Mango. I've been eying these kind of loafers/mocassins for a long time. Then I found these babies at the perfect time a while ago. I remember having a hard time finding these kind and now you can get sort a likes everywhere.

Ik ben helemaal weg van deze schoenen van de Mango. Ik was al een tijdje op zoek naar soortgelijke loafers/mocassins. Ik nergens de perfecte paar vinden totdat ik op een dag de Mango in liep en mijn schatjes zag staan. Ja, het was echt een halleluja moment voor mij, met de muziek en spotlights erbij. Deze schoenen zijn vallen zeker niet bij iedereen in de smaak maar ik vind ze echt super!

For dinner I made wraps with Turkish yoghurt, salmon, salad and cucumber. And another one with chicken and tomato aswel. I started by coating each wrap with yoghurt. Then put some pepper, salt garlic powder and olive oil on. Just a little of each. Then I took the rest of the ingredient and putted that on the wraps. Microwave it for 2 min or so, and bon à petit! These are so easy to make and taste delicious.

Als avondeten heb ik wraps gemaakt. Een met zalm en twee met kipfilet. Ik begon eerst met alle wraps op te warmen. Vervolgens heb ik er Turkse yoghurt op gesmeerd met wat peper, zout, knoflookpoeder en olijfolie voor wat smaak. Daarna heb ik er wat kipfilet, tomaat en sla bijgedaan. Op die met zalm heb ik gerookte zalm, komkommer en sla bijgedaan. De wraps zijn super lekker en kost ik was binnen no time klaar.

Later that night I came home from a meeting and still had a little work to for the schooltrip that I'm organizing. I felt like not doing anything really. So I decided to make it cozy in my room. It really helpt a lot as I finished my work quickly. I hope you had a lovely day. x

Na de vergadering, mijn eerste ambassadeurs vergadering btw, was ik super lam. Ik was de hele dag al heen en weer geweest met boodschappen, reizen, noem maar op. Moest ik nog een begroting maken voor onze studiereis. Het moest die avond gebeuren zo dat we zo snel mogelijk het geld kunnen krijgen om de tickets te boeken. Om toch een beetje kracht te krijgen heb ik alle kaarsen aangestoken op mijn kamer om het gezelliger te maken. En ja ik was super snel klaar en kon nog lekker een filmpje kijken.
